  • President Lee, Myung Bak received the honorary doctorate from George Washington University
  • Formally suggested the importance of Korea-Maryland USA Bio Expo in oversea-Korean discussion when he officially state visited the U.S.

  • Chungcheongbuk-do (Sijong Lee, Governor) visited Maryland to discuss bio science with Governor O’Malley
  • Seoul (Se Hoon Oh, Mayor) and Governor O’Malley (MD) signed business and science MOU
  • Agreement on KITA Bio Korea Exchange Booth (KITA Hak Hee Cho, Director)
  • Managed Governor O’Malley’s official Korea state visit schedule
2011-03

  • Official discussion with President Lee, Myung Bak (Korea)
  • MOU concluded between Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Korea(Joong Kyung Choi, Secretary), and the State of Maryland In Science, economy, bio industry)
  • LOI concluded Jeollanam-do’s senior government officials service training visit to Maryland (Dae Seok Kang, Director)
  • Led the City of Jinju, Gyeongnam’s visit to Maryland for exchange and cooperation (Chang Hee Lee, Mayor)
  • Participated in International Bio Expo Washington D.C.(Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization (Jung Sun Seo, Chairman) Seminar)
2011-04

  • The 1st Korea-Maryland, USA Bio Expo 2011 (Location : Baltimore Convention Center)
  • Signed MOU between Seoul Sangam DMC (Bokyung Byun, President) and Bio Park, University of Maryland (James Hughes, President)(Discussed about Bio-Clusters at Magok Industrial Complex)
  • Signed MOU between Ewha Women’s University (Sunwook Kim, President) and Hospital of University of Maryland (Jay Perman, President)
  • Soonchunhyang University’s Developmental Center’s 21 people came, participated in KM Bio Expo, industrial education, and Site Visitation (NIH, JHU, Amarex, Montgomery County)
